Azuragrion granti (McLachlan, 1903)
Socotra Bluet

Type locality: Socotra, Yemen

Diagnosis

Male is similar to other Azuragrion species by (1) Hw 11-15 mm; (2) mesostigmal plates without dorsally raised flap- or knob-like ridges; (3) base of paraproct scarcely swollen. However, species set apart from the rest by (1) restricted to Socotra Island; (2) relatively larger size, Hw 20-22 mm; (3) metapleural and interpleural sutures with black stripes along much of their length; (4) antehumeral stripe connected posteriorly to blue on mesepimeron; (5) only S9 largely blue, rather than both S8 and 9. Habitat description

Streams and possibly standing waters in open landscapes. Especially calmer sections (like pools), often with rocks. Inferred to occur from 0 to 900 m above sea level, but possibly up to 1400.
