Pseudagrion (B) glaucescens Selys, 1876
Blue-green Sprite
Type locality: Sierra Leone, no locality data available.
Diagnosis
Male is similar to P. helenae by (a) S8-9 seldom with narrowly black apical border, often all blue; (b) penis with shallow apical notch and no lateral points; (c) cerci about half as long as S10, inner border with sharp angle; (d) cerci at most with small basal tooth; cerci seldom dwarfed by paraprocts, if so normally not notched; (e) paraprocts never with dorsal knob (lateral view). However, differs by (1) being more widespread; (2) larger size, Hw 21-24 mm; (3) face and mesepisternum (yellowish) green, rather than blue; (4) lower branch of cerci broad rather than concealed, and well-visible in lateral view. Habitat description
Rivers in open landscapes. Often with emergent vegetation. From 0 to 1500 m above sea level, but mostly between 500 and 1400.
