Diagnosis
The only species currently recognised in this genus in Africa. Please refer to the genus diagnosis and introduction for more information.
Habitat description
Standing waters, but possibly also streams, shaded by (gallery) forest. Probably especially calm sections in streams or pools in stream beds with blackwater, submerged roots, coarse detritus and a sandy and/or soft (like muddy) bottom. From 0 to 1600 m above sea level.
